Domain Monitor Help guide

Pausing your monitors

Sometimes you may be making planned changes to your website or server and don't want to be notified of downtime.

This is where the ability to pause a monitor can be useful.

When a monitor is paused, we won't check the monitor and won't notify you of potential downtime until you resume the monitor again, here's how to get started with this feature:

Pausing a monitor

Need to pause monitors on a regular basis? Consider setting up a maintenance window.

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Tap Monitors (you might need to open the menu first if on a mobile) in the menu
  3. Tap on the Edit button (the button with the pencil icon) to edit your monitor
  4. Then, click on the button that says "Pause monitor"

Resuming a paused monitor

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Tap Monitors (you might need to open the menu first if on a mobile) in the menu
  3. Tap on the Edit button (the button with the pencil icon) to edit your monitor
  4. Then, click on the button that says "Resume monitor"

Automatic pausing of monitors

In order to maintain a reliable and fast service, we will automatically pause monitors in your account if you haven't logged in within the past 6 months. Don't worry though, we won't remove your monitors and you will be notified several times in advance of us pausing your monitors.

Once we've paused your monitors, you'll need to log in to your account and manually resume the monitors that you'd like to continue monitoring.
