Domain Monitor Help guide

When are SSL certificates checked?

When you add a domain to your account, you have the option, providing you're subscribed to our Pro plan to enable SSL expiration and health alerts straight to your inbox.

When this feature is enabled either when adding a new domain name, or after editing a domain name you'll be able to receive alerts about upcoming certificate expirations linked to your domain.

SSLs don't often change, and as developers ourselves we understand that sometimes you might be making a temporary change to your website's SSL, for this reason we allow you to change how often certificates linked to your domain are crawled.

  • We automatically check your website's SSL based on your check frequency for your SSL certificate linked to your domain.

If your website's SSL is inactive or it can't be reached then we will update your domain to show that your website is potentially missing a valid SSL, SSL alerts are sent daily.

If you're making changes to your website's SSL often, then these changes will be picked up on the next check.
